So, you’ve got a winter or late fall senior session on the calendar, yay! We love the cozy, golden tones this time of year brings. But we also know… it can get chilly out there. The good news? You don’t have to sacrifice comfort for cute. I’ve got some easy tips to help you stay warm AND look amazing during your cold weather senior session.

These little tricks will keep you cozy between shots so you can focus on having fun and soaking in the moment.

layer up smartly


Thermals or long johns are your best friend. Layer them under your outfit, nobody will see them, and they’ll keep you toasty without the bulk. Perfect for staying stylish and comfortable!

bring a cozy blanket or robe

Between shots, wrap up in a plush blanket or robe. I’ll guide you on when to slip it on and off so you’re warm without interrupting the flow of your shoot.

warm your hands with handwarmers


Red or purple fingers are no fun in photos. Keep hand warmers or heating packs in your pockets to keep your hands comfy and photo-ready.

swap out shoes wisely


Wear warm boots and thick socks when we’re walking or setting up. When it’s time to shoot, you can quickly change into your more stylish footwear.

sip something warm


Bring a cute thermos with hot cocoa, tea, or your favorite cozy drink. Not only will it warm you from the inside out, it makes a great prop too!

Keep your body moving


Between poses, do a little stretching or light pacing to keep your blood flowing. Staying active helps keep the shivers away!

plan outfits stragegically


Choose outfits that naturally work with layers. Think fitted sweaters under chic coats or puffer vests, so you can stay warm and still look amazing.
