Hi, I’m April.
I am a Master Photographer, Photographic Craftsman, Certified Professional Photographer, and award-winning portrait artist based in Iola, Kansas.
But credentials are only part of what matters during your session.
My real job is to create a space where you feel comfortable, cared for, and confident enough to let yourself be seen.
If you have ever said, “I am awkward in pictures,” “I do not know how to pose,” or “Maybe someday,” you are exactly the woman I created this experience for.
I will guide the styling, posing, lighting, and every detail. You do not have to arrive knowing how to do any of it.
You simply get to show up as you are.

The Modern Glam Experience is a fully planned and guided portrait experience from your initial consultation through finished artwork.
Your session includes:
- personal planning and styling guidance
- up to three looks or portrait sets
- professional posing and expression coaching
- careful image retouching
- a private reveal and ordering appointment
- digital images and finished artwork according to the collection selected
Collections begin at $750.
A $175 deposit reserves your date and is applied toward your selected collection.

Do I need to know how to pose for a glam photo shoot?
No posing experience is needed. April demonstrates and guides every pose, including posture, hands, facial expression, movement, and camera angle.
What should I wear for a modern glam portrait session?
Wardrobe planning is included. We will choose pieces that flatter you, photograph beautifully, and fit the look you want to create. You may also have access to selected pieces from the studio wardrobe.
Do I need to lose weight before a portrait session?
No. The session is designed around the woman you are today. Wardrobe selection, flattering lighting, posing, and camera angles are used to create polished portraits without changing your identity.
Is the Modern Glam Experience a boudoir session?
No. Modern Glam is a magazine-inspired women’s portrait experience, not a boudoir session. Clients choose their wardrobe and comfort level and are never required to wear revealing clothing.
Is professional hair and makeup available?
Professional hair and makeup may be added or recommended depending on the look you want. We will discuss options during planning.
Can I bring a friend, sister, mother, or daughter?
Yes. The experience can also be created for mothers and daughters, sisters, best friends, milestone birthdays, or multiple generations.
Where is the studio?
The private studio is located at 201 South St. in Iola, Kansas.
